Ingredients for sauce
- 3 tablespoons ketchup
- 2 ½ teaspoons cornstarch
- 1/8 teaspoon crushed red peppers
- ½ teaspoon ground ginger
- 5 tablespoons water
- 1 ½ tablespoons soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons canola oil
- 1/8 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 5 cloves garlic peeled and finely diced
- Pinch of sea salt
- 2 cups pre cooked white rice hot and ready to serve
- 2 tablespoons sesame seeds GARNISH
Other ingredients
- ½ cup green onions finely diced
- 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 3 tablespoons canola oil
Preparation
Place in a large mixing bowl all the ingredients for the sauce and mix until blended and set aside. Heat a large frying pan to high and wait for it to get hot, around 3 minutes, then add the canola oil, then the garlic and onions. Spread around and add the shrimp and allow to cook untouched for 1 ½ minutes then turn the shrimps over and cook for 1 and a half minutes more then add the Szechuan sauce until the sauce begins to bubble and thicken.
Place your hot rice on a plate and add the shrimp with the sauce over it Garnish with sesame seeds and serve.
